WELCOME! Rowan Spence is an aspiring writer who has been studying ancient cultures for over 10 years. This site started as a place to house her research as she developed what she lovingly refers to as "The Great Celtic-American Novel", which has the working title of "The Children". It is a supernatural thriller, which combines Neolithic and Celtic archaeology, Celtic mythology and folklore, weaving it in a modern tale in which readers find themselves travelling around what still remains of ancient England, Wales, Ireland, Scotland and Brittany. This website is where she has housed much of her research over the years, since 2005. Here's the teaser about the book: Alastair Herne and his friends join a unique tour of Britain, Ireland and Brittany; one which focuses on the mythology and folklore of these lands. Little did they know that their lives would be forever changed; what they had thought were just stories, is actually history. And history always has a way of repeating itself. She also has a blog called From Writer to Author, where she discusses the process of writing this type of historically based thriller and tries to get published.
